The NBA has reached preliminary agreements with Amazon Prime Video and ESPN for new media rights deals. The previous deal with Disney's ESPN and TNT was worth $26 billion over nine years, and the NBA aimed to double this amount. Prime Video's package will feature significant regular-season and postseason games, while ESPN will retain rights to the NBA Finals for ABC but will broadcast fewer games, around 80 instead of the current 100. Both deals are expected to last at least a decade and may include the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Other potential bidders included Apple, Google, and NBC.
