Airlines are increasing baggage fees and tightening restrictions on carry-on items. Last year, they amassed a record $33.3 billion from luggage fees alone. Delta, American Airlines, United, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines have all raised their existing bag fees by $5. Southwest remains an exception, offering two free checked bags, but it is enforcing stricter rules on additional carry-on items.
